Patch notes

TRAINING ARC 0.15.0

Pre-Alpha

A lot has changed since the last notes (0.12.0). The highlights:

Combat

  • ARCADE is the game's combat now. Kick ki shots back with your fighter's own COMEBACK, roll through attacks, and use one set of inputs for every fighter (Up + X rising, Back + X turn-around, Down + X low, dash then X rush, Up + Y signature, Down + Y trick).
  • Grab = tap LB (O on keyboard): a GRAB prompt shows over any grunt you can grab. Throw them into the crowd, at the screen, or backstage. Hold LB for the skill wheel.
  • Every fighter has their own beam, charge-up and ki blast, a visual "How <fighter> fights" guide, and a skill tree built around their own kit, with signature upgrades.
  • Set powers: wear a full zone set (all five pieces) and one of your moves changes.
  • The Solari's forms are the Phases of the Sun, from First Light to Supernova, and SECOND WIND is RISE AND SHINE.
  • The Mossborn has new moves: VINE LASH, THORN FLICK, SEED SCATTER and TAPROOT. The Gearborn fights like a heavy stunt robot whose fists heat up.
  • Fuller combat sound: layered hits, crunchy crits, finisher booms and each fighter's own accent.

Story and worlds

  • The finale: beat zone 20 and the Remote misfires into CH 00, THE CUTTING ROOM.
  • The story is voiced all the way to zone 20, plus the finale and the first Titans.
  • Story scenes play like a TV show: the cast on stage, camera push-ins, channel-change wipes, title cards and cue cards.
  • New stories: the Frost Empire (zones 12–14) is a frozen summer festival, Sundae Shores; Fuzzy Lane has its own cast (Wilton and Stickler); Master Ponzu is the Network's retired stunt coordinator, host of the green room.
  • Titan 4 is THE RERUN, a VHS-tape berserker in a dead TV studio.
  • Lantern Town (zones 9–11) has painted far backdrops.
  • Zones past 20 are gone for now (they'll come back as new worlds). Old saves keep that progress aside.

The islet and idle

  • A new idle loop to try, THE SHOW (Settings > Gameplay > Idle loop): five departments that grow from junk on one lap from the dock to the Remote, a call sheet with the 1–3 things worth doing now, crew who take chores over, golden moments, and PREVIOUSLY ON when you come back.
  • The islet's menus are rebuilt: a list with details beside it, plain words, and a full explainer the first time you open anything. The Remote reads like a TV guide.
  • Energy no longer places itself: you put it in the training drills you choose. Auto-placing is earned later.
  • Brawler-only and idle-only play both reach zone 20 now.
  • The Mailbox stands on the plaza's back row, behind the TV.

Also

  • 34 achievements (Pause > Achievements). Old saves earn theirs from their progress.
  • Settings > Display > Frame rate: Display, 60 or 30.
  • Faster loads and smoother cuts; 463 voice clips no longer distort.
  • Saves are harder to lose: a damaged save restores from the newest good backup.
  • Morrow joins the crew, the Hexwood souvenir shows and the last fan letters arrive once zone 20's boss is beaten.
